About - Ridgewell C of E Primary School

Opened in November 1864, Ridgewell C of E Primary School is at the heart of the village community, the affiliation with the Little Stars Nursery, their Under 5’s group and active links with Hedingham Secondary School and Stour Valley Community School brought Ridgewell in an excellent position to support your child as they begin their journey through school to future success. Through whole school assemblies they introduce to children a wide range of moral issues, developing an understanding of other people’s views. In 1968 a new building was opened on the present site.

Admissions to school are made through the common application form for Essex. This form can be found on line or in the Primary Education in Essex booklet. The school is not responsible for admissions. Places are allocated according to admissions criteria. Parents will be informed if their application is successful by the admissions authority. The school’s pupil admission number for each cohort is 15 places. The school holds a meeting for prospective Foundation Stage children in the Autumn term of each year.
