About - St Andrews Church of England Voluntary Aided Primary School Halstead

St Andrew's Church of England (VA) Primary School was founded by the Church in the nineteenth century to provide education according to the principles and practices of the Church of England. It is a medium sized church primary school in Halstead, Essex. St. Andrew’s has strong links to the Christian Church, which underpins the ethos and values of the school and provides a basis for our day to day learning. We pride ourselves upon being a community school for pupils from the full range of faiths and backgrounds.

Parents seeking a place for their child need to complete an application using the LEA’s Common Application Form which is returnable directly to the LEA. Also parent required to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF) in addition to the Common Application Form if they wish their application to be considered on specified criteria under the school admission guidelines. The law does not require a child to start school until the start of the term following their fifth birthday. Parents may delay entry or request part time education until the term after the child is five.v Defer entry will keep on hold and not offer to others. Parents would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Full time education is available for all new admissions from the start of the Autumn Term 2013.
