PAF - Careers

PAF is a big organization. Its setup requires multiple level of jobs. Besides its operational position there are so many adminsitartive and suppotive positions.

GD Pilot

In the PAF the career of a general duties pilot is very exacting and demanding. Everybody cannot measure up to its rigorous standards.

Suspended Cadets

Sometimes aviation cadets are withdrawn from flying due to air sickness or lack of flying aptitude. Earlier on these suspended cadets were withdrawn from the Academy and they lost crucial time in adjusting to the life in civil. The PAF has now realized that these stringently selected candidates possess great potential to become assets in the other Branches of the PAF like Logistics, Data Automation, Air Defence Weapon Controller, Administration and Special Duties, Education and Meteorology Therefore, the new training scheme now offers a guaranteed commission in the PAF, even if one fails to make a fighter pilot. The PAF Academy, Risalpur will now ensure that a suspended cadet gets his B.Sc. degree and is offered a commission in either of the above quoted Branches. However, they may express their choice for ground branches in order of preference. The Air Headquarters would give due considerations to the preferences, indicated by suspended Aviation Cadets, in the allotment of Ground Branches.

Logistics Officers

Without adequate logistics support, even a well-prepared plan cannot be properly executed. To ensure smooth functioning of the PAF, we require a well-organized logistics system. Jf3ou are a keen, meticulous and industrious young man you can render fruitful services by contributing your acquired knowledge concerning supply and cost-oriented operational activities in the PAF.

Selection Criteria

The Aviation Cadets of GD (P)/CAE who are grounded/suspended due to the lack of Flying Aptitude in CFT or poor academics in CAE are offered to join this Branch. If they opt for it, they are given an opportunity to complete their B.Sc. degree. Subsequently, they are commissioned in the Branch after the successful completion of their professional training.

Qualifications for Civilian Candidates

In case of civilian candidates minimum educational qualification is B.Com. (1st or 2nd Division) or B.A./B.Sc. (1st or 2nd Division) with at least one of the following subjects:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Mathematics
  • Statistics

Age 18 to 30 years. Either Sex.

Data Automation Officers

Like all other modem and sophisticated organizations, the PAF also uses computers extensively. Accurate and rapid information/data processing is a prerequisite for all management, logistics and operational plans and their day- to-day running. Young men with talent for computer related work can lead an enjoyable and gratifying life as Data Automation officers in the PAF.

Qualifications for Civilian Candidates

In case of civilian candidates minimum educational qualifications are M.A./M.Sc./B.Sc. (1st or 2nd Division) ;except with Arts & Literature subjects. Social Sciences are acceptable.

Age: 21 to 35 years. Either Sex.

Air Defence Weapons Controllers

In some of today’s aerial battles the adversaries may never see each other. An Air Defence Weapons Controller operates sophisticated radars, acts as the far seeing eyes of a fighter pilot, whom he guides from the ground. The ADWC’s alertness often gives the fighter pilot the edge to come out victorious in aerial battles. A challenge worth meeting indeed. Selection Criteria:

Administrative and Special Duties Officers

Efficient and effective administration in an intrinsic requirement of a combat-oriented Service. Intelligent and energetic young men in this specialty are required in the -PAF.

Qualifications for Civilian Candidates

In case of civilian candidates minimum educational qualification is B.A./B.Sc. (1st or 2nd Division). Preference will be given to candidates who are B.A.
(Hons.), M.A English/BBA/MBA (1st or 2nd Division). Age: 18 to 30 years. Either Sex.

Education Officers

All officers are exposed to multifarious challenges and ever changing demands. They have to adjust with the accelerated pc of life in the PAF and respond adaptively to a variety of tasks which they are expected to perform In order to groom and train these officers to play their roles effectively and efficiently, Education Officers make a meaningful contribution. If you desire to satisfy your need to impart knowledge and to interact with the bubbling and exciting intellect of young men, you should consider joining the PAF as an Education Officer.

Qualifications for Civilian Candidates

In case of civilian candidates minimum educational qualification is M.A.IM Sc.(1st or 2nd Division) in the relevant subject. Preference will be given to the candidates having B Ed. and M.Ed. degree or teaching/research experience. Selection procedure and conditions of ineligibility are same as for SPSSC in Engineering Branch.
Age: 21 to 35 years. Either Sex.

Rank on Joining

Education Officers are offered SPSSC Commission in the rank of Flight Lieutenant. Higher rank may be granted to the candidates with special qualification and experience relevant to the job. The Education Officers may also be offered Permanent/Extended Service Commission subject to their suitability in the PAF.

Accounts Officers

PAF being a complex organization, requires to manage its staff in the Accounts branch. You can make a positive and effective contribution in the finance management of the PAF, if you have the flair to deal with figures and details.

Qualification

Minimum B. Com/M. Com., BBA, MBA from a recognized university. Age: 18 to 30 years. Either Sex.

Legal Officers

Cohesive and disciplined functioning of the PAF is ensured with the expert advice and assistance of legal officers. In the interpretation of PAF law and advising us on legal matters your education and acumen can be a great asset to the Legal Branch of the PAF.

Qualifications

Minimum BA LLB-(1st or 2n’ Division). Age. 21 to 30 years. Either Sex

Meteorological Officers

Meteorological Officers monitor the vast skies, analyze the seasonal changes and forecast the weather for the efficient flying and accurate combat preparedness of the PAF.

Selection Criteria
