About - Montgomerie Primary School

Montgomerie Primary School was established in September 2011 following the amalgamation of Montgomerie Infant and Primary Schools. The site originally opened in September 1970 and the school occupies a large site with extensive playing fields. The school is well resourced and equipped for nine class bases. We have an ICT suite, laptop trolleys and inter-active whiteboards in all classrooms to allow ICT to be taught in other curriculum areas as well as catering for the different learning styles of our children. The school has full wireless access throughout the building.

All children has the right to a full time place at school from the September following their 4th birthday. Parents can request to defer admission until the child reaches compulsory school age in the school year, thus,the school will put on hold the defer entry and not offer and not offer it to another child. The parent would not, however, be able to defer entry beyond the beginning of the term after the child’s fifth birthday, nor beyond the academic year for which the original application was accepted. Morning session only is available for parents opting to take up a part time place until child reach compulsory school age . Where parents choose to defer entry, a school may reasonably expect that the child would start at the beginning of a new school term/half term.
