About - St Francis Catholic Primary School Braintree

St Francis School was founded by The Franciscan Sisters in Convent Lane, Bocking in 1900. It was opened in 1962 when the school expanded and open a new site bought in Gilchrist Way to build the present school. It is voluntary aided school for boys and girls aged 5 to 11 years.

The Governing Body is responsible for all admissions. Parents are urged to seriously consider their commitment to the Catholic Faith and how it is expressed before requesting admission. The standard number to admit for the Reception Class is 30. In case of oversubscriptions, the Governing Body will allocate places in the following categories in the order set out within this policy.
