Try out the answer choices:

(1) 13: 1 × 3 = 3, and 13 is not a multiple of 3, so eliminate.
(2) 21: 2 × 1 = 2, and 21 is not a multiple of 2, so eliminate.
(3) 24: 2 × 4 = 8, and 8 × 3 = 24, so 24 is a multiple of 8. Got it!

But just to confirm . . .

(4) 44: 4 × 4 = 16, and 44 is not a multiple of 16. No good.
(5) 52: 5 × 2 = 10, and 52 is not a multiple of 10, so Choice (3) is indeed the answer.
