Different kinds of offences:

The following are the offences against property dealt with in Chapter-X VIII-- 1. Theft of property. (a) House-Trespass
2. Extortion. (b) Lurking House-trespass
3. Robbery. (c) House-breaking.
4. Dacoity. (d) Lurking House-breaking
5. Receiving stolen property trespass
6. Cheating.
7. Fraudulent deeds and dispositions.
8. Mischief.
9. Criminal trespass.
The above offences may be grouped in three classes:
1 . Offences dealing with deprivation of property. (Ss. 378-424).
2. Offences dealing with injury to property (Ss. 425-440).
3. Offences dealing with violation of rights of property in order to the commission of some other offence. (Ss.44 1-462)
