	The "they" in the underlined portion is vague, we can't clearly tell to whom it refers. So, we eliminate Choices (1) and (2) since both use this construction.
	How do the other three choices differ? Choice (4) contains the pronoun "it", and all three differ in their use of "desire" or "desired". Which one sounds right? "The manager desired" is correct, which leaves us with Choices (4) and (5). Where do they differ? Choice (4) contains the pronoun "it", but what does "it" stand for? It's not really clear.
