There are two things to keep in mind about Choice (1).
First, don't assume that every sentence contains an error; the original sentence is fine about one-fifth of the time. However, be careful about jumping to Choice (1) as an answer based only upon your initial reading of the question. Another choice might express the same idea more clearly or analyzing the differences might draw your attention to an error in the original sentence. Even when the question stem seems fine, be certain to identify the differences among the answer choices and eliminate choices as you see their errors. Choose Choice (1) if it remains after you've assessed all of your options.
